Charles Emiola is responsible for the shared services functions of UMB Capital, comprising Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Compliance. He heads a shared service centre, which is a consolidation of the business operations that provide professional services to its clients.
Prior to this role, Charles worked with Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited for about 14 years in various positions in Corporate Banking, Credit Risk Management and Business Support. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the bank’s distressed assets; here he headed up the Corporate Recovery team and demonstrated leadership expertise in debt restructuring, turnaround, risk management and cost control.
Charles also has experience in the mining industry having worked as Project Engineer for Taywood Mining for about 2 years, before moving to the banking industry.
He has a First-Class Honours degree in Mining Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and an MBA from the University of Buckingham in the UK.
